Who We Are

Experienced trial attorney Bianca T. Green founded Illinois Mediation Services, Inc. in response to the growing need for independent mediation services in Illinois. Bianca received her Bachelor of Science Degree (with honors) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1991. She obtained her law degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1994 where she was honored for excellence in Trial Advocacy, served as the Student Articles Editor for the Journal of Legal Medicine, and was selected to compete as a Member of the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Team. Bianca became a member of the Illinois Bar in 1994 and she continues to be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.

Upon obtaining her law license, Bianca joined the prestigious law firm of Thomas, Mamer & Haughey, LLP, Champaign, Illinois. She worked as an associate of the firm from 1994 until 2000 when she became a full partner. Bianca served as a partner at TM&H from 2000–2010 before deciding to become an independent mediator and arbitrator.

During her tenure at Thomas, Mamer & Haughey, LLP, Bianca’s law practice involved complex civil litigation that primarily focused on insurance defense issues including personal injury, premises liability, medical malpractice, construction litigation, insurance coverage disputes and declaratory judgment matters at the trial and appellate court levels. She also handled pension and disability claims and resulting litigation on behalf of the State Universities Retirement System of Illinois.

While in private practice Bianca obtained excellent results for her clients by negotiating hundreds of cost effective settlements, many of which were reached via the mediation process. She likewise prevailed in case dispositive motions, arbitrations, jury trials and at the appellate court level. As an experienced trial attorney Bianca is well versed in various mediation and arbitration models.

In addition to her comprehensive legal experience, Bianca holds a Certificate of Completion of the extensive “40 Hour Performance Based Mediation Skills Training” from the Center for Conflict Resolution, Chicago, IL. She also holds a Certificate of Completion in “Divorce and Custody Mediation Training” from the Mediation Training and Consultation Institute, Ann Arbor, MI.

Bianca is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Champaign County Bar Association where she served as a Member of the Board of Governors. She is also a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. Bianca is a member and Past President of the Executive Club of Champaign County and she currently serves on the Board of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Champaign County.
