Why Mediate?

The purpose of mediation is to bring disputing parties together voluntarily to work with an impartial mediator to find a solution for settling their dispute. Neither party “wins” nor “loses” but instead, mediation focuses on finding a resolution that is mutually beneficial to both. Mediation reduces the stress involved in conflict situations, eases the financial burden of litigation, eliminates decisions imposed by a judge or jury and gives the parties full control over the outcome. It is a process that is private, faster and less expensive than litigation.

“Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can. Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser—in fees, expenses and waste of time.”

—Abraham Lincoln
